The wildfires ravaging northern and southern California have killed 11 people so far, including nine in Paradise, a town in the Sierra Nevada foothills that was flattened by the most destructive wildfire ever recorded in California. In Southern California, two were killed in the Hill and Woolsey fires, which have destroyed 150 homes and forced evacuation for more than 250,000 people, including many from the inland hills and canyons, and suburbs such as Thousand Oaks, where 12 people were killed earlier this week in a mass shooting at a country and western bar.
It also forced the evacuation of the entire beachfront city of Malibu and several nearby towns, where many of Hollywood’s biggest stars live. Some of them took to social media to tell of their experience, report their whereabouts, cheer on the firefighters, or reassure fans. Here are some of the celebrities who have joined the exodus:
Martin Sheen and his wife, Janet Sheen, were interviewed by a Fox local news reporter after his son, the actor Charlie Sheen, had tweeted that he was unable to reach his parents. Martin Sheen told the Fox 11 news reporter that they had evacuated their home in Point Dume, and that he thought there was little chance their house had been spared.
“Emilio, Ramon, Renee, Charlie… we’re fine,” he said on camera, speaking to the couple’s children. “We’re at Zuma Beach and will probably sleep in the car tonight. We’re just fine and hope you guys are, too.”
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith
In an Instagram story on Friday, Will Smith showed that the fire was visible over the hills from where he stood, outside his home. “We are not in the evacuation zone, but I don’t like it,” he said, “so we are going to go.”
Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West
I heard the flames have hit our property at our home in Hidden Hills but now are more contained and have stopped at the moment. It doesn’t seems like it is getting worse right now, I just pray the winds are in our favor. God is good. I’m just praying everyone is safe

I am thinking so deeply for everyone who is suffering today from these abominable fires & grieving the loss of their homes or loved ones. I’m sitting here with many of you wondering if my home will burst into flames. All we can do is pray together & for each other. God Bless You.

Well, well, as if life needed to get more interesting…we have a mandatory evacuation of our home due to the #Woolseyfire . We have gone to a hotel in Santa Monica where we will stay until we can return. Send love and strength to our amazing California firefighters. #safe

My House has been evacuated due to nearby fires in Thousand Oaks. (The pigs & dogs are fine, thank you) Please send your prayers to the people of Thousand Oaks and the victims of the shooting that are now having to evacuate their homes and neighborhoods. Then send them some cash.
